Help kids learn to read an analog clock. Each sheet has 12 large clock faces with every minute marked. Choose “Read the clock” to write the time, or “Draw the hands” to show a given time, and pick how precise the times are, from o’clock up to the nearest minute.

How to fill it out

  1. Choose the activity (read or draw) and how precise the times are.
  2. Click New clocks for a different set.
  3. Print it, or save as PDF.
  4. Click Show answer key to print a checking copy (drawn hands appear in gray).

Tips

  • Teach o’clock and half past first, then quarter past and quarter to, then 5-minute times.
  • Remind kids: the short hand is the hour, the long hand is the minutes.
  • Count by 5s around the clock to read minutes quickly.
  • Practice with a real clock at home after each sheet.

FAQ

Can kids draw the hands themselves?

Yes. Choose “Draw the hands”. The time is printed under each blank clock.

How precise can the times be?

Hour, half hour, quarter hour, 5 minutes or 1 minute.

Does the hour hand move between numbers?

Yes. At 4:30 the hour hand sits halfway between 4 and 5, just like a real clock.
