The hundreds chart is a classroom staple for counting, skip counting and place value. Each row holds ten numbers, so going down a column adds 10 and going across adds 1. Color patterns for counting by 2s, 5s and 10s right on the printed page.

How to fill it out

  1. Choose Letter or A4.
  2. Print a copy for each student.
  3. Color skip-counting patterns (2s, 5s, 10s) with crayons.
  4. Use it for number hunts: “find the number that is 10 more than 34”.

Tips

  • Moving down one row adds 10; moving right adds 1.
  • Cover a few numbers with sticky notes and ask what is missing.
  • Use the blank hundreds chart to practice writing numbers.
  • Use the 120 chart in 1st grade, where standards count to 120.
