Kindergarten Writing Paper: uses, sizes and printing tips
Extra-large handwriting lines for preschool and kindergarten: 1 inch rows with a dashed midline, printed in landscape so each row is long enough for a name or a short word. Add a picture box on top for drawing and writing activities.
How to print it
- Choose the paper size (US Letter, A4, Legal, A5 or Half Letter) and portrait or landscape — the page updates as you change settings.
- Pick the line height (1/2″ to 1½″), the space between rows, a descender line and an optional picture box.
- Add a title or a name/date header if you want, or keep the page plain.
- Click Print / Save as PDF. In the print dialog choose “Actual size” (100%) and turn off “Headers and footers”.
Tips
- Write a model word in the first row with a highlighter for children to trace.
- Tall letters touch the top line, small letters reach the dashed midline, and tails like g, p and y drop below the baseline.
- Start large (1″) for preschool and kindergarten and move down to 5/8″ and 1/2″ as handwriting gets smaller.
