1/8 Inch Graph Paper: uses, sizes and printing tips
Fine graph paper with 1/8 inch squares — eight per inch — and a darker line at every inch. The small squares suit detailed scale drawings, pixel art, small-scale charts and quilting templates.
How to print it
- Choose the paper size (US Letter, A4, Legal, A5 or Half Letter) and portrait or landscape — the page updates as you change settings.
- Pick the square size, heavy lines every 4, 5 or 10 squares, and whether the grid has a border.
- Add a title or a name/date header if you want, or keep the page plain.
- Click Print / Save as PDF. In the print dialog choose “Actual size” (100%) and turn off “Headers and footers”.
Tips
- If the fine lines look too dense, switch Line color to Light gray.
- The grid always ends on whole squares and is centered on the page, so nothing is cut off at the edges.
- Turn off “Fit to page” in the print dialog — otherwise the printer shrinks the squares slightly.

With half-inch margins a US Letter page fits about 60 by 80 squares.

How do I check that the squares printed at the right size?
Measure 10 squares with a ruler. At 100% scale, 10 squares of 1/4 inch measure exactly 2.5 inches, and 10 squares of 5 mm measure 5 cm.
