Half Sheet Lined Paper: uses, sizes and printing tips
Lined paper at half-letter size (5.5 × 8.5 inches), the format of many planners, journals and A5-style binders. Print directly on half-letter stock, or pick A5. For two half sheets from one letter page, print with 2 pages per sheet.
How to print it
- The page opens at Half Letter (5½ × 8½ in) with college ruled lines and a margin line — 28 lines on the small page.
- Printing on regular Letter paper? In the print dialog choose 2 pages per sheet, then cut the page in half.
- For A5 planners and binders, switch Paper size to A5 (148 × 210 mm).
- Click Print / Save as PDF. In the print dialog choose “Actual size” (100%) and turn off “Headers and footers” so the spacing stays exact.
Tips
- Use it for exit tickets: one quick question at the top, a few lines for the answer.
- Half sheets fit discbound and mini binders — punch them with the matching punch for your planner.
- Teachers use them for exit tickets and quick checks: less paper, and students don’t feel they have to fill a whole page.

Will the line spacing be exact when printed?
