One-Point Perspective Grid: uses, sizes and printing tips
Guide lines radiate from a single vanishing point on the horizon — the setup for drawing roads, railway tracks, hallways and rooms seen straight on. Move the vanishing point left or right, raise or lower the horizon and add vertical guides.
How to print it
- Choose the paper size (US Letter, A4, Legal, A5 or Half Letter) and portrait or landscape — the page updates as you change settings.
- Choose one-, two- or three-point perspective, the line density, the horizon height and vertical guides.
- Add a title or a name/date header if you want, or keep the page plain.
- Click Print / Save as PDF. In the print dialog choose “Actual size” (100%) and turn off “Headers and footers”.
Tips
- Draw over the grid with tracing paper so your final drawing has no guide lines.
- Draw objects lightly over the grid, then trace the final lines in ink or on a light box.
- A low horizon makes objects look tall and heroic; a high horizon looks down on the scene.

Can I move the vanishing point?
Yes — choose Left, Center or Right and a High, Middle or Low horizon.
What is a vanishing point?
The point on the horizon where parallel lines appear to meet. One-point perspective has one (looking straight down a road), two-point has two (looking at a building corner), three-point adds one above or below for tall buildings.
