Comic Book Template: uses, sizes and printing tips
A blank comic book page with six panels in a 2 × 3 grid, bold borders and even gutters. Switch the layout to 4, 8 or 9 panels, comic strips, a manga page, a Sunday page or a big splash panel.
How to print it
- Choose the paper size (US Letter, A4, Legal, A5 or Half Letter) and portrait or landscape — the page updates as you change settings.
- Pick a panel layout, the gutter width between panels and optional trim and safe-area guides.
- Add a title or a name/date header if you want, or keep the page plain.
- Click Print / Save as PDF. In the print dialog choose “Actual size” (100%) and turn off “Headers and footers”.
Tips
- Plan the story as a list of beats first: one beat per panel.
- Pencil the layout lightly, ink the panel borders last, and let a character or speech balloon break a border for emphasis.
- Turn on trim and safe-area guides if the pages will be printed or sent to a print shop.
FAQ
Which layout should beginners use?
The six-panel grid is the most flexible: it reads naturally left to right, top to bottom.
Can kids use it?
Yes — the 4-panel layout gives younger artists bigger panels.
Can I draw outside the panels?
Yes — the borders are just a starting point. Many artists erase or skip a border for splash moments.
Is it free, and do I need an account?
It is completely free with no sign-up and no download. Change the settings, print it or save it as a PDF, and bookmark the address — your settings are stored in the link.
