Tri-Fold Brochure Template: uses, sizes and printing tips

How to print it
- Choose the fold — tri-fold or bi-fold brochure, half-fold greeting card or quarter-fold card.
- Switch between the outside and the inside of the sheet and choose a layout guide, writing lines or blank panels.
- Print the outside, put the sheet back in the printer and print the inside on the back (test the direction with a blank sheet first).
- Fold along the dashed lines; keep text inside the dotted safe area so nothing ends up on a fold.
Tips
- Keep the most important message on the front cover and contact details on the back.
- Use the layout guide to sketch your design by hand before building it in a design app — it shows exactly which panel ends up where.
- Score the fold with a ruler and a dull knife or an empty pen for crisp folds on card stock.

Which way does a tri-fold fold?
The right panel of the outside is the front cover; the left panel of the outside folds in first and is the flap seen when the cover opens.
Can students make brochures with it?
Yes — print the outside and inside on the two sides of one sheet and let them draw and write in each panel.
Which panel is the front?
Each panel is labeled. On a tri-fold, the outside of the sheet holds the inside flap, the back cover and the front cover (right panel); the inside holds the three inside panels.
