Greeting Card Template: uses, sizes and printing tips
A half-fold greeting card layout: landscape Letter folds once into a 5½ × 8½ inch card. Panels are labeled front, back and inside, with safe areas — draw a birthday, thank-you or holiday card, or plan a printed design.
How to print it
- Choose the fold — tri-fold or bi-fold brochure, half-fold greeting card or quarter-fold card.
- Switch between the outside and the inside of the sheet and choose a layout guide, writing lines or blank panels.
- Print the outside, put the sheet back in the printer and print the inside on the back (test the direction with a blank sheet first).
- Fold along the dashed lines; keep text inside the dotted safe area so nothing ends up on a fold.
Tips
- Print on 80–110 lb card stock so the card stands up.
- Use the layout guide to sketch your design by hand before building it in a design app — it shows exactly which panel ends up where.
- Score the fold with a ruler and a dull knife or an empty pen for crisp folds on card stock.
FAQ
What envelope fits?
A 5½ × 8½ in card fits an A9 envelope (5¾ × 8¾ in). Fold it once more for an A2 envelope.
Can I write inside?
Switch the side to Inside and choose writing lines for the message.
Which panel is the front?
Each panel is labeled. On a tri-fold, the outside of the sheet holds the inside flap, the back cover and the front cover (right panel); the inside holds the three inside panels.
