Recipe Card Template: uses, sizes and printing tips
Recipe cards in the standard 4 × 6 inch size: recipe name, servings, prep and cook time, an ingredients column on the left and lined directions on the right — two cards per page, ready for a recipe box.
How to print it
- Choose the card type and card size — the page fills with as many cards as fit, with light gray cut lines between them.
- Choose lined, blank, graph or dot cards where it applies, and portrait or landscape to change how many cards fit.
- Print on card stock for sturdy cards, or on plain paper for practice.
- Cut along the gray lines with a paper trimmer — the cards share cut lines, so there is no waste between them.
Tips
- Slip finished cards into plastic sleeves to keep kitchen splashes off.
- A paper trimmer gives straighter edges than scissors and is much faster for a full stack.
- Print a test on plain paper first if you are using expensive card stock.

Will they fit my recipe box?
Yes — 4 × 6 in is the most common recipe box size. Choose 3 × 5 for smaller boxes.
Can I write on the back?
Print a second page of lined 4x6 cards on the back for long recipes.
Can I print the cards double-sided?
Yes. The cards are centered on the page, so the front and back line up when your printer flips on the long edge. Print one test sheet first.
