Quarter-Fold Card Template: uses, sizes and printing tips
Make a card from a single sheet printed on one side: fold it in half top to bottom, then in half again. The front and back sit on the bottom half; the inside panels are printed upside down on the top half so they read correctly after folding.
How to print it
- Choose the fold — tri-fold or bi-fold brochure, half-fold greeting card or quarter-fold card.
- Switch between the outside and the inside of the sheet and choose a layout guide, writing lines or blank panels.
- Print the outside, put the sheet back in the printer and print the inside on the back (test the direction with a blank sheet first).
- Fold along the dashed lines; keep text inside the dotted safe area so nothing ends up on a fold.
Tips
- Great for kids’ cards — no double-sided printing needed.
- Use the layout guide to sketch your design by hand before building it in a design app — it shows exactly which panel ends up where.
- Score the fold with a ruler and a dull knife or an empty pen for crisp folds on card stock.
FAQ
Why are two panels upside down?
After the first fold the top half flips over, so content printed upside down ends up the right way up inside the card.
What envelope fits?
An A2 envelope (4⅜ × 5¾ in).
Which panel is the front?
Each panel is labeled. On a tri-fold, the outside of the sheet holds the inside flap, the back cover and the front cover (right panel); the inside holds the three inside panels.
