How to fill out a Cleaning Service Agreement
Free Cleaning Service Agreement template
A cleaning service agreement sets out what a cleaner or cleaning company will do and on what terms: how often, which tasks are included, the price per visit, payment, access to the home, cancellation and what happens if something is missed or damaged.
How to fill it out
Enter the client's name and contact details, the service address and the provider's business name, and note whether the provider is insured or bonded.
Choose the frequency (one-time, weekly, every two weeks or monthly), the start date, the usual day and time, and how the cleaner will get in.
List each area or task — kitchen, bathrooms, floors, dusting, inside the fridge or oven — and mark which ones are included, with notes.
Fill in the price per visit, the price of extras, when payment is due, the payment method and the cancellation terms.
Review the satisfaction, damage and term clauses, then both sign and each keep a copy.
Tips
Walk through the home together before the first visit and agree on what "clean" means for each room.
Price extras like inside the oven, inside the fridge, interior windows or laundry separately so the regular price stays clear.
Write down how keys, garage codes and alarm codes are handled, and who has them.
Ask whether the provider carries liability insurance and is bonded, especially if they will be in the home alone.
If the cleaner is an individual you pay directly at home, they may count as a household employee for tax purposes; a cleaning company usually does not.
All names, companies and contact details are fictional. Click “Fill sample” above to put this example into the empty fields; click again to remove the parts you did not change.
FAQ
What should a cleaning contract include?
The schedule, the tasks included, the price and when it is paid, how the cleaner gets in, cancellation, what happens if something is missed or damaged, and how either side can end the service.
Can I use it for office cleaning?
Yes. Change the service address and replace the task list with your office areas, such as restrooms, break room, trash and vacuuming.
How much notice to cancel?
Commonly 24 to 48 hours to skip a single visit, and 7 to 30 days to end recurring service. This template uses 7 days by default — edit it to match your terms.
