Sight-In Target: uses, sizes and printing tips
A sight-in (zeroing) target on a ½ inch grid with heavy lines every 2 inches, a large center diamond and four smaller aim points. Count squares to see how far your group is from the aim point and adjust your sights.
How to print it
- Choose the paper size (US Letter, A4, Legal, A5 or Half Letter) and portrait or landscape — the page updates as you change settings.
- Choose the target type, how many targets per page and the number of scoring rings.
- Add a title or a name/date header if you want, or keep the page plain.
- Click Print / Save as PDF. In the print dialog choose “Actual size” (100%) and turn off “Headers and footers”.
Tips
- Shoot three-shot groups and adjust from the group center, not single shots.
- Print at 100% (Actual size) so ring sizes and grid squares are true to scale.
- Use a laser printer or let ink dry before use — bold black areas can smear.
FAQ
How do I use the grid to adjust my scope?
Measure the distance from the aim point to the center of your group in squares (½ in each) and convert to clicks using your scope’s click value at that distance.
Do I need to print at 100%?
Yes — otherwise the squares will not measure exactly ½ inch.
Is it safe to make my own targets?
Paper targets are safe for ranges, airsoft, archery practice and BB guns when used with a proper backstop. Always follow your range rules.
