Archery Target: uses, sizes and printing tips
A 10-ring archery target face in printer-friendly shades of gray with ring numbers and an X ring. Print one per page or several smaller faces for close-range practice, and mount it on a proper target butt.
How to print it
- Choose the paper size (US Letter, A4, Legal, A5 or Half Letter) and portrait or landscape — the page updates as you change settings.
- Choose the target type, how many targets per page and the number of scoring rings.
- Add a title or a name/date header if you want, or keep the page plain.
- Click Print / Save as PDF. In the print dialog choose “Actual size” (100%) and turn off “Headers and footers”.
Tips
- Glue the face to foam board to keep it flat on the target.
- Print at 100% (Actual size) so ring sizes and grid squares are true to scale.
- Use a laser printer or let ink dry before use — bold black areas can smear.

Can I print it in color?
The face uses shades of gray to save ink; color the rings yellow, red, blue and black with markers if you like.
What distance is it for?
A Letter-size face suits short indoor or backyard distances; use larger official faces for competition.
Is it safe to make my own targets?
Paper targets are safe for ranges, airsoft, archery practice and BB guns when used with a proper backstop. Always follow your range rules.
