Football Field Diagram: uses, sizes and printing tips

Football Field Diagram printable preview
Free printable Football Field Diagram

A blank American football field to scale: end zones, yard lines every five yards, hash marks and yard numbers. Coaches draw plays and formations on it; choose up to six fields per page with note lines.

How to print it

  1. Choose the paper size (US Letter, A4, Legal, A5 or Half Letter) and portrait or landscape — the page updates as you change settings.
  2. Choose the sport, full or half court, how many diagrams per page and note lines for each.
  3. Add a title or a name/date header if you want, or keep the page plain.
  4. Click Print / Save as PDF. In the print dialog choose “Actual size” (100%) and turn off “Headers and footers”.

Tips

  • Use X and O for players and arrows for routes.
  • Diagrams are drawn to scale in light-to-dark gray so your markings stand out.
  • Print a set for each practice and file them as a playbook.

FAQ

Can I print several fields per page for a playbook?

Yes — set Diagrams per page to 2, 4 or 6 and add note lines.

Where are the hash marks?

Inbound hash marks follow the pro spacing; high school and college hashes are wider apart but the diagram works the same for drawing plays.

Can I draw plays on screen?

Not yet — print the page or save it as a PDF and mark it up in a PDF app or on a tablet.

Is it free, and do I need an account?

It is completely free with no sign-up and no download. Change the settings, print it or save it as a PDF, and bookmark the address — your settings are stored in the link.
